The food tastes so GOOD, so why is it BAD for us? Well… the foods around us are designed to appeal to our senses not to our health.
“Where the senses fail us, reason must step in.”— Galileo Galilei
Where have we gone wrong since we have now arrived at the startling conclusion that what tastes good is bad for us? Well… we are “enslaved” by our senses and emotions, forgetting that consuming food is primarily about providing what our bodies need to live a healthy life. Our intention has been to make food taste good, making it cheaper and more convenient; and that is exactly what we have.
“It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence which could support this.”— Bertrand Russell
“Mankind are governed more by their feelings than by reason.”— Samuel Adams
Good tasting, cheap and convenient food is KILLING us. Diseases associated with being overweight such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes are a severe public health crisis. Our relationship to food must change.
There is another severe public health crisis brewing: MISINFORMATION. Information through the internet, like “junk food” through fast food chains, is cheap, convenient and appeals to our senses. We consume way too much of it and we are not selective of which information we consume. “Unhealthy information” leads to bad choices and unhealthy consequences. Our relationship to information must change.
“The first step in solving a problem is to recognize that it does exist.” — Zig Ziglar
The internet is one of the greatest human achievements. It can be your greatest ally or your worst enemy. Use it wisely! Be selective of the information that you fill your head with. If you have not given any time and thought to how information arrives in front of your eyes, it is almost certain that you are getting UNHEALTHY INFORMATION. Similarly, if you have not given much thought about the food you eat, it is almost certain that you consume too much and the unhealthy kind.
Unhealthy food and unhealthy information are the same: Cheap (costs less money) and convenient (costs less time). What’s wrong with that?
“In this world, you get what you pay for.”— Kurt Vonnegut
So what does all this have to do with dentistry?
“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” – George Orwell
STAY TUNED! THE TRUTH IN DENTAL INFORMATION REVOLUTION is coming your way! First, you will be shocked! Then you will be thankful as the information will save you time and money.
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
— Albert Einstein
